State of Space and Getting Organized

I grew up in a wonderful household where throwing things away wasn't easy for everyone. I've seen first hand how easy it is for the mess to build and accumulate, and how difficult it can be to get a handle on it. I also know how hard it can be to part with treasured possessions, the challenge of putting things away after working all day, or getting other people living in your house to follow the beautiful systems you've put in place. This is where I come in. As a NAPO (National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals) certified organizer, I’ll work with you to create systems that make cleanup easier, enabling you to maintain your organized home after I’m gone.
There are common thoughts and questions before, during and after the organizing and decluttering process. I'll answer what I can here and invite you to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Please DON'T clean or tidy before I arrive.

Nope - I want to see your space exactly how it is so that I can understand how your space functions for you in daily life. Then we can work to find solutions to address any challenges.

I'm not going to make you get rid anything.

By the time we're working together, I'll know your goal so I'll encourage you to do what's needed to get there and maintain it, However, what you get rid of is entirely up to you.

All sessions are confidential.

Everything is confidential. Some clients allow me to post before and after pictures of their spaces. These are posted without identifying information and only with the client’s permission.

You're overwhelmed or embarrassed by your clutter.

That’s what I’m here for! You took the brave first step and I’m here to help you through any discomfort, grief, excitement, frustration. Through the decluttering, the sorting and the organizing (and the best part of putting everything away) until you can feel proud of your space.

I will give you the best estimate on how long it will take, but there are variables.

This depends on the goal (make it manageable, clear it out completely, reorganize) and how quickly we work together.

I can help with chronic disorganization or ADHD-related clutter but it's not my area of expertise.

I can help, however there are other NAPO certified organizers who are specially trained to help with this so I would most likely recommend a colleague.

I offer organizing products and recommendations.

I'm beyond happy to spend time in The Container Store (or find other suitable options for you) and buy anything that might make your space easier to manage for an additional fee. Ask me about recommendations and shopping for organizing products.

Instagram worthy is not the goal.

Your belongings should make sense to you and your household. That doesn't always include color-coding and pretty baskets.

I can help maintain the systems after we’re done our initial session(s).

Nothing would make me prouder! I offer various packages to help with ongoing maintenance.
